Phew! We made it out of the house and are on our way. It feels good to finally be making this trip happen. Lots of planning and lots of work went into this adventure, and now it’s happening! We left McCall on a beautiful sunny day after a snowy night. The van was a little top heavy with it’s blanket of snow but it had mostly melted off by the time we got to Boise.

Boise was full of last minute errands and we discovered the China Grand Buffet. We’ll be back there for sure! After Boise we drove to Twin Falls and stayed with the gracious McBride’s who hosted us last minute. The kids were excited to have unlimited iPad time and are stoked on the new Christmas iPad from grandma. Tomorrow we are off to Vegas where we plan on getting some last minute surf gear. I don’t know why I find it so funny that there is a Ron Jon Surf Shop on the Strip, but it saves us a side trip to San Diego. Then Calexico the next night and crossing at Mexicali early the next morning. Onward!
